Content

PD Quarterly publishes thoughtful, well-written, original articles which:

  • have not previously been published elsewhere,
  • provide information on subjects related to law office professional/career development and talent management that will be useful to those who are responsible for those functions in our subscribing organizations (PD/CD/TM specialists in private law firms, government agencies, law schools, and consulting firms), and
  • treat the topic in appropriate depth -- i.e., as warranted by the subject matter, length can be from 600 to 10,000 words (longer articles can be carried as a series).

Formatting, Citations, and Author Credits

Articles should be prepared in Microsoft Word, rich text, or plain text format and forwarded by email to the editors.

All material must be your original work, unless you indicate clearly what parts are quoted or paraphrased from other publications, and their source. Please set out quotations of 50 or more words as indented block quotations without quotation marks.

We request full citations to resources, and we especially appreciate URLs that enable our readers to link directly to those resources and to additional reference material.

Please also provide, for inclusion with the article:

  • a brief bio (2-3 sentences),
  • a current photo (head or head and shoulders, preferably in color), and
  • contact information (phone number and/or email address) for readers who may wish to make follow-up contacts.

Permissions

Fair use principles suggest that any quotation longer than several paragraphs should be used only with the permission of the original publisher. If you have used significant content from the work of others, please obtain permission in writing and forward it to the editors.

In submitting your article to us for publication, you are granting Professional Development Services permission to reproduce, circulate, and/or republish your article without limitation, with credit to you as author. If we receive requests from other publications to reprint your article, we will refer them to you for permission.

After publication, you will receive a reprint of your article in PDF format and permission to reproduce, circulate, and/or republish it without limitation, with credit to PD Quarterly as publisher.
